Hair..? Help..?

Okay so I have 2 questions.

1. How short do my layers have to be for me to be able to tease it into a scene haristyle?

%26amp;%26amp;

2. My mum wants me to grow my layers out, but I want them shorter. She says I can do whatever to my hair, she won%26#039;t care. But I want my layers shorter (like in the question above). So, if I do get them cut, how do I stop them from poofing out? I straighten my hair, but not that often.

Please help..?!

Hair..? Help..?
You can have any length in layers to tease to make scene hair, as long as you tease the hell ouuta it, your fine. :D
Hair..? Help..?
You should get the top layers of your hair pretty short, and the rest a few inches longer than the shortest part to start, then chopped %26amp; layered down in longer and thinner layers as you go further down the hair shaft. As for keeping it poof-free, try Sunsilk 24 Creme Antipoof. It should do the trick. Besides, the poofiness of it is half the style! Try a cute bow. :]
Reply:Why do you want short hair? For the cut or do you think it will tease up better? Any length hair can be %26#039;jacked up%26#039; by teasing, it%26#039;s all in the wrist.

To keep shorter layers from poofing out, gel or grease them down.
Reply:I would say about 6-7 in. would be the longest you could get for your top layer. For teasing, use either molding wax or a rattail comb and hair spray(extra hold, of course). Trust, I%26#039;ve had the same problem..
